Empower Rowing // Preserve Waters

There is a deep connection between rowing communities and the natural waterways we share. Rowing begins for everyone as an opportunity for self-improvement, education, and a connection to nature.

Through collaboration with local and regional partners, we aim to inspire action towards preserving our water environments, keeping them vibrant and accessible for all, now and in the future.

The Ferryman’s Challenge is hosted by the Occoquan Stewards LLC. The Regatta is aimed to promote upper level rowing for Youth and Open rowers, as well as protecting Virginian & East Coast waterways to ensure generational responsible use and enjoyment.

  • We aim to promote and grow upper level rowing in the US for Youth, Collegiate, and Open rowers.

  • We will attain our “1% for the planet” designation after the first year.

What We Plan to Achieve:

  • A sufficient prize pool will be accumulated and offered to encourage high levels of competition.

  • All remaining profits and proceeds will go towards local and regional charities and environmental organizations.
